Friendship

I wrote this poem to remind myself and others that Christ is a man's best friend. People may fail you, people may let you down, people may disappoint you but God will never let you down!!! There is no one who can soothe a heart like Christ. There is no one who can heal the ailing mind, body, and soul like the great physician, Christ. So next time you are hurting, you need to talk, or you are in search of a friend call on Christ and He will supply your every need.

Friendship
By: Amber Johnson

Darkness seeps into your surroundings
Hope seems to be merely a distant dream
Depressions have formed in the cold black dirt under your weak knees
Tears stream down their pale canvas
Anguish forces your chin to your chest
All is grave

A voice is uttered in the stillness
Hopelessness has drowned it out
The voice calls
You hear but see no one
The tears overwhelm your sight

A hand reaches
The tears muddle the help
You cry out with the only utterance your lacking strength will allow
A hand rests on your shoulder
and a voice whispers I am here

Illumination
All is bright
The darkness is overwhelmed
Hope is grasped
Help is here
Rescued

A friend
a helping hand
a guiding light
a clear voice
a lasting hope
