Wisdom's Call

Part 2: Wisdom’s Call

When your walls come crashing down

Do you heed wisdom’s call

Or run towards your own Sodom and Gomorrah

For comfort, for encouragement, for help

Does your pain blind you?

Do you even want to see through

the tears and the hurt?

Take your eyes and avert

Them towards Christ’s light

Take your ears and listen

To the Bible’s wisdom that’s always right

Do not let your mind focus

On the plague infested locusts

But the freedom, the salvation, and the hope

Let Christ be the rope

You climb when you need a way out

 Christ is all this life should be about

So begin to erase the sin

Allow Christ to save you from the chains

Of bondage that land you in your sin, past, and pain

Break free, answer wisdom’s call, and worship the Savior

That made a new foundation to rebuild those walls that came crashing down

Wisdom's Call

 ¹ Does not wisdom call out?
       Does not understanding raise her voice? ² On the heights along the way,
       where the paths meet, she takes her stand;

Broken hearted

From those I have parted

Need to move

Beyond the past

I’m sinking fast

Two steps forward

One step back

Some days are great

Others I just can’t think straight

I get so tied up

I hit the ground face down

With nothing but a frown and a tear

Wondering if God’s near

What have I done to keep on remembering?

I just want to forget everything

I beg to forget

Has that time not come yet?

I want to be set free

But what’s not letting me?

I cry on bended knee

With all my begging pleas

To just Jesus be set free

From all that I think I miss

Does what I remember even exist?

I am so confused

I feel so bruised

From all the beatings

During the memory lane meetings

Where I fall

So far I can’t walk and stand tall

But have to crawl

To try to be by your side

Because I need a guide

A place to hide

You’ve seen what I’ve tried

You have seen how I’ve cried

Why can’t I just stay by your side

100th post

I want to thank all my readers for taking the time to read my posts, as well as, commenting and getting involved in the blog. This blog is a way for me to attempt to communicate what the Lord has put on my heart and I pray I have been able to do that.

The main message summed up:
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the Savior and the Lord and Master of all and I want to make that known throughout the world. Jesus is the scream out loud secret to a rich life. He is the key to everything you want in life- happiness, joy, fulfillment, purpose, life, hope, goodness, righteousness, and salvation. Jesus is the answer!!!

I’m not a perfect person

I’m not a perfect person

I have my flaws I pray won’t worsen

I want to do what’s right

I want to be the warrior in Christ’s fight

My sin haunts me

Some days I think the lock has lost its key

That buried deep inside

Are all the things over which I’ve cried

All the things I tried to hide

That which I wish would purge

So my heart and wounds could continue to merge

Together from the brokenness, hurt, and disgust

I wish Christ never had to see

But the beauty of it all is that He still loves me!

To Jesus I crawl

His love protects me, calms me, and keeps me

Armed with the Armor of God

      

 Armed with the Armor of God

            I hauled the helmet over my head, released my grasp on the chunk of metal and let it clash against my petite shoulders.  I continued to clothe myself with armor, snatching the handle of the fierce round shield and seizing the most important piece, the Bible.  My soul overflowed with strength gifted from above.  As I marched into my high school, others bombarded me with questions and shot down my beliefs. School life was a battle as the Jesus Freak on campus. 

Who I was in Christ was not a secret. The Lord allowed me to be bold and strong with my words and my actions. As a result, I was infamous for my love and faith in the Lord. Daily my school saw how I identified myself; not separated from Christ but one with Him. I wore a Jesus Freak bracelet, put Scripture up in my locker, and never backed down from a conversation that would prove the glory of God. These things made me extremely different. Nevertheless, because I was willing to be transformed instead of conform, the Lord used me in incomprehensible ways.

I recall many incidents when I was filled with the Holy Spirit. One event stands out in my mind. It was an overcrowded art room with three rectangular tables. Each held at least eighteen students. My teacher paced vigorously at the head of the tables.  Engrossed in the lecture I was unaware of the shuffling around me; a group of eight encircled my chair. This group previously persecuted, attacked, and questioned all that I believed. An in-class activity distracted the rest of the class from the assault.  I bowed my head, clasped my hands, and begged for the Lord’s strength and wisdom. When I opened my eyes to confront the challenge ahead, my teacher placed a Bible in my hands, and suddenly became blinded to the happenings in that corner. The other students began questioning me and, with Scripture to stand on, I defended my Lord. Eventually, the Holy Spirit broke through the barriers of their hearts. It was over an hour of exhausting ministry. As the conflict rolled to a resolution, I could see changed faces and hearts around me. 

The Lord blessed me with an overflowing peace during the battle.  However, when the group separated I shook, wept, and turned deathly pale. The story does not end there.  A majority received Christ as their Savior and regularly attended church while the others followed up with questions.

        Throughout my high school experience, the Lord used me in miraculous ways. He gave me the strength to fight armies, the wisdom to change hearts, and a passion that will never end. He continued to protect me with His armor. The Lord allowed me to see the fruit of my ministry.  Many of the students and faculty returned and told me of the new desires of their hearts, Jesus Christ.  

            Today, I am growing in my new environment at The Master’s College. I am surrounded by Christian people who are striving for the same goals. Classes, chapel, worship, and discipleship have already strengthened and changed me. I started as a warrior for Christ constantly in the fire; everything was about ministering to other people. Now I am the person being ministered to. The journey continues as Christ leads me to new schools and new environments where I am able to shout His Word and His purpose for all people from the rooftops. 

    Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 6: 11

A Generation that Seeks

Are you seeking the will of Jesus? So many people live their lives by their own to do lists and by what they have to do, forgetting Jesus in the busyness and chaos. The thing is our life is not our own it is the Lord's. He has freed us from sin so we can become a servant to His will. As a servant of the King we should want to do anything and everything to please Him. Do you live for and seek the Lord? Does your generation live for the Lord? What can you do to start a revival? What can you do to make the people you know and the people you can relate to look beyond their stuff, their to dos, and focus on the only thing that matters yesterday, today, and forever- Jesus Christ? People use facebook, myspace, chat, texting, emailing, and blogging to talk about the world, to talk about sin, to talk about things that do not please the Lord, and we need these people to change their focus. With these tools we need to minister, we need to reach out, we need to shout about Christ, His blessings, and His love!!! We need to reach out to all generations, to all people, and to all the world so they can have a chance to be a people that seeks Christ, a people that wants change, and a people who pray. Be the the mirror image of Christ people need to see in this sin filled, fallen, all about me, world!!!

Plans

Today, was one of those God lead me tell me the plan for my life please kind of days. Have you realized that trying to sort out and piece together your life is just an unbearably daunting task? Today as I was struggling to make the next major decision and turn my life was going to make God reminded me of Abraham and Joseph. God was with them, God blessed them because they lived for Him, and He guided their every move. Sometimes they did not know where they were supposed to go or where they would end up but they trusted God to lead them where He wanted them to be and they always ended up in the right place and furthering God's plan. The Lord always has a plan that is so much better than I could ever fathom with my finite mind and I am thankful that He gets the job of putting together the pieces of my life and sorting out the path that I have to walk on and even pulling me by the hand down the path He has set before me. God is my leader, my guidance, my foundation, my strength, my wisdom, and my everything. Reminding myself that God is in control and knows the plans for my life calms me because in the end I know everything will be okay and that I will end up at the place He has for me.

The Lord guides:
[Genesis 22: 3b-4 When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. ⁴On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.]


The Lord blesses:
[Genesis 39: 2-6 ² The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. ³ When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, ⁴ Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. ⁵ From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. ⁶ So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. ]


The Lord always has a plan: 
[Genesis 45: 4-9 ⁴ Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Come close to me." When they had done so, he said, "I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! ⁵ And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. ⁶ For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will not be plowing and reaping. ⁷ But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 
 ⁸ "So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt. ⁹ Now hurry back to my father and say to him, 'This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me; don't delay. ]

Surrender your life and your circumstances to Christ. Trust Him to guide you. Trust Him to lead you to the place where He wants you to be.

Walking with God

Gen.  5:21-24

²¹ When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. ²² And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. ²³ Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. ²⁴ Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.


Are you faithful? Does full of faith, unswerving allegiance and steadfast affection describe you? Is faithfulness something you want to be defined by? In Genesis 5 that is how Enoch was defined. We read that he walked with God and then was no more because God took him away. I pray to be known for walking with God and then becoming no more because He takes me to be at His side. I strive to embody the character of Christ and He was the ultimate example of faithfulness. In everything He did He was faithful. Christ was faithful to the Lord, His plan, and the allegiance He had with Him. Jesus was faithful to keep and fulfill the promises He had made, even to a painful agonizing death on a cross. Christ is faithfulness and throughout the Bible faithfulness is seen in those who stay obedient, steadfast, and open to God's plan, purpose, and will, just as Jesus did. Living a life of steadfast obedience and unswerving allegiance is never easy but with Christ by our side and as our guide what do we have to fear? In being faithful we have to give up our old life of sin and put on a new life of righteousness and Christ-likeness. What do we have to change or continue to remain faithful to the Lord? 
How are you going to live your life on this Earth so you will be the one known as the one who walked with God?

Where Does Your Strength Come From?

Dearest brothers and sisters in Christ: 

Without the Lord’s strength these words would not be. I am at a loss for words, sleeplessness is taking its toll, and continuous illness is dragging me down but I write to you because you need to know that it’s when you are at your weakest, the Lord’s work is the strongest. We think we are the victors, worthy of praise and honor. We believe we are keeping our heads above water, we are winning the battles, and we are overcoming the struggles. Our strength does not win battles, it loses them. Who do we think we are to give ourselves that kind of glory? In our own strength, all we create is disaster. We stumble once, attempt to patch up our skinned knees, and then conjure up a pride-welling motivational speech that we think will keep us moving. A few seconds later, we are found back on the ground. Our stumbling never ceases. Without the Lord’s strength, you will live on your scuffed knees.  The question is, "will you look up from there?" We are fighting a losing battle against our own flesh and the evils of Satan. We are turning our backs on the Lord’s perfect plan. To counter these things you must walk up to the foot of the cross and lay down your strength and self-praise. And instead, rely on the Lord’s strength for every breath and step you take. The Christian life is not possible in our own strength. 

I do not know why we constantly depend on our own strength when we know our flesh is weak and powerless. Not only are we physically weak but we are spiritually weak. We are sinful creatures that follow our desires when they speed by. Our sin spews out into our actions and taints all that we try to make right. Jesus tells us to “[k]eep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41). Christ points out this flaw, but we still carry on as if we can do it all on our own, this is the weakness of the flesh. “If we …[take] the glory [for ourselves] His strength [will] go unnoticed” (Roberts). Only when “the Lord takes our hand and makes us strong” (Roberts) do we enter into success. No matter how willing we are, we can do nothing in our own strength. Paul says, “For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it” (Romans 7:18). No matter how much we will it, we are weak in carrying out what is good, which is God’s law. Even if we attempt to follow God’s commands, because we are weak, we will fall into sin.Therefore, the idea of living on our own strength is abolished because it is not possible given our constant failure to do good and follow the Lord’s commands despite our strongest desire.

Satan and his deadly evils envelops us. Temptation is lurking around all corners, present on every billboard, seen in every magazine, and found in every place your eyes may wander. It is extremely difficult to stand strong amidst such persuasive temptation. Satan has fallen; he wants to take you down with him. And, in your own strength, he will succeed. Why would you try to stand up to him alone? Just think, you have the choice of fighting Satan by yourself or you can fight him with the help of the all-powerful God. Any tribulation is bearable, sometimes even enjoyable, when you are in the arms of your King. “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it” (1 Corinthians 10: 12-13). The Lord will be your escape when times get tough. He will only ration out what you can handle and you can trust that God is always faithful. Therefore, we must rely on God for strength because we are not able to stand up against the devil and his wicked plans on our own.

The Lord created us in a way that makes it necessary for us to rely on Him. Our flesh is weak, sin tempts us daily, and our salvation is nothing we have done or can ever imagine doing. “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). God’s gift of grace allows us to be saved! The reason salvation is a gift and is not able to be earned is so we won’t brag and boast about what we did to be saved but instead see it is from God. If it weren’t for God, we would not be saved and He wants us to realize that. He wants us to see His mercy and grace. Paul says, "For God has made all people prisoners of disobedience, so that He might show mercy to them all" ( Romans 11:32).Can’t you see He wants you to come to Him? He wants you to say Father I need you, carry me. He gave us the gift of salvation so we could reside in Him, why do we stray from Him? 

            The Lord loves us more than we can ever imagine and He only wants what is best for us, so why don’t we just surrender? In our own strength we will fail, we must trust in Jesus! I pray that you give up your life to Him, tell Him you can’t live without Him, and remember that in His strength all things are possible. Surrender your strength and dive into God’s plan relying on Him to fight “all the flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16). Life is hard enough as it is! Just, let go and let God. Rely on Him to be your strength.

Oh Father! My Father!

This poem imitates the structure of Oh Captain! My Captain! by Walt Whitman. It dives into the truth of Jesus Christ and how He is the Savior of us all.

Oh Father! My Father!

Oh Father! My Father! I mourn for you

For all the things you’ve taught me and for everything you do

When I’m on the wrong path you show me where to go

You show me all the right ways the ones I didn’t know

The pain! The pain!

Oh nailed upon a tree

Was the perfect man, my father, and my friend

A great death for a sinner but not for he

Oh Father! My Father! It can’t be true

They didn’t know what they were doing they had no clue

They whipped an innocent man

And put a nail through each hand

The agony! The agony!

The people who have done this were blind and couldn’t see

Questions & Answers

Have you ever asked God to make something clearer? Have you ever asked the Lord for an answer to a question that has been on your mind or heart? Sometimes the answers we are looking for aren't given to us right away. I love to be organized, know what's coming, and have a back up plan for the plan. I love answers and information to help me get where I need to be in life. Yet, I have realized that life lessons don't usually get answered quickly. I don't get to ask Jesus why and get the answer without learning, without growing, and without clinging to Him with every fiber in me that He fashioned with His own hands. Tonight, I was thinking that even if everything is going well in our lives and we still don't have an answer to a question that is lingering in our minds maybe that question is there so we will follow Jesus even closer than we would had we had the answer. I have been struggling with a question I have been praying to Jesus to answer, to give me some insight on, to show me what I need to learn, or to just make it leave my mind but in all that what I realized is that I was praying, begging, and being with Christ. It never occurred to me that the question itself could be the answer! The torment of the unanswered question drove me further into the place I always long to be, at the feet of Jesus. Who knew an unanswered question would bring me so much joy and satisfaction? Finding myself on my face before the Lord, diving into Him and His Word is the greatest answer I could ever hope to receive.

Shaken!

Acts 4:31 (New International Version)

 ³¹After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Wow! Shouldn't this be what it is like for all of us who receive the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives? We should have a deep desire to courageously go out and spread the good news, blessings, and message of Christ. We should want to do nothing but tell of the truths of God and the sacrifice and gift of His Son, Jesus. Accepting Jesus Christ into our lives should shake the core of who we are, our lives, and the place we are at in that moment. Our old lives and practices should be shaken off and our new holy righteous skin in Christ should come forth. The foundation of the world that we used to stand firm on should be cracked and useless to allow the new foundation of Christ, His Word, and His glory to be built and used as a solid rock for where we will stand. If you have accepted Christ into your life and your life looks the same as before you asked Christ into your life....examine your heart, ask yourself who are you truly living for...yourself or Christ?...read the Word of God, the Holy Bible and learn how Jesus wants you to live....pray every second of the day about anything and everything so you can build a unique and loving relationship with Christ....go to church consistently so you can learn more about His Word and fellowship with others who can encourage you and help you grow in Christ....if you have been living for yourself and for the ways of the world and want to live for Christ, tell Him, dedicate your life to live for and love Jesus. Jesus is waiting for you with open arms, so run to Him, and live in the joy, love, and unending goodness of the Lord.
